First, find a permanent spot for it. It needs to be on a firm, level floor (not carpet), away from walls or furniture. This ensures its weight sensors work accurately. Then, screw in the four legs, plug it in, and follow the in-app setup guide.

For guaranteed performance, use a ​high-quality, clumping clay litter. The CATLINK brand litter is optimized for this system. Avoid non-clumping, crystal, or silica gel litters as they will not form solid clumps and can damage the mechanism or create a mess.

Add litter until it's just below the "MAX" line inside the globe—about 4 liters. After adding, always press the "Level" button on the unit or in the app to evenly distribute the litter. The machine can also auto-level after 5 minutes of inactivity.

It uses a weight sensor in the base. When your cat gets in and out, it senses the change in weight. In the default ​Smart Sense Mode, it waits a few minutes after your cat leaves (to let the waste clump properly) and then automatically cleans.

1.Smart Sense (Auto):​​ Cleans automatically 3 minutes after your cat exits.
2.Timer Mode:​​ Cleans on a fixed schedule you set (5, 10, 20, or 30 mins after use).​
3.Manual Mode:​​ Only cleans when you press the physical button or the button in the app.
4.Kitten Mode:​​ ​Crucial for small kittens!​​ Disables ALL automatic cleaning. The unit will only cycle if you press the button. Use this for kittens under 6 months or 3.3 lbs.

The CATLINK app is your control center. It:

The Scooper Open-X supports both ​2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi bands, giving you flexible connectivity options. Please note that networks requiring a secondary login portal (like those often found in apartments, dorms, or hotels) are not supported.

Here are the best tips for a smooth setup:
1.Ensure your smartphone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz) you want the litter box to use.
2.Keep the litter box close to your Wi-Fi router during the initial setup process.
3.For the best connection stability, a strong 5 GHz signal is recommended if your router is nearby, while a 2.4 GHz signal may provide better range if the litter box is farther away.
4.Simple network names (SSIDs) and passwords work best (avoid special characters like '#' or '&').

For a single cat, you'll likely only need to change the bag every ​1-2 weeks. The app will notify you when it's getting full. For multiple cats, you'll need to empty it more frequently.

Use the "Empty" function. Press and hold the "Level/Empty" button for 3 seconds. The globe will rotate to a dumping position. Press the button again to confirm, and it will empty all the litter into the waste drawer.

Pro Tip:​​ Empty the waste drawer firstso it doesn't overflow.

YES (Hand Washable):​​ The globe (dome), waste drawer, filter, and deodorizer box. Ensure they are completely dry before reassembling. ​
NO (Wipe Only):​​ The main electronic base. Never submerge it or spray it directly. Use a damp cloth or disinfectant wipe to clean it.

This means the litter level is low. Add more litter until it reaches the "MAX" line and press the "Level" button.

1.The waste drawer is not inserted correctly.
2.The globe is stuck or obstructed (e.g., by a very large clump).
3.The side cover was opened during a cycle.
4.Check the unit for any obvious obstructions, ensure everything is clicked into place, and restart it.

Yes, it's designed with safety in mind. The cleaning cycle is slow and quiet. If a cat enters or even just touches the globe while it's rotating, the sensors will detect the weight change and ​immediately stop​ the cycle.

Please use ​Kitten Mode. It prevents automatic cycles that could startle a small kitten. Only switch to auto modes once your kitten is over 6 months and 3.3 lbs.
